3 reasons why your content isn't converting

ybanez media May 29, 2021

What you’re doing in your content is keeping it from converting to money.

Your social media content is a great way to get sales… but not if you’re making these three mistakes:

You’re making your content all about you!

If you make your content only about you and your experiences, your readers will get to be disinterested in your posts.

If you’re telling a story, make sure to tell it from a perspective where the reader can place themselves in the story.

You’re focusing too much on what you’re selling and not enough on building a relationship with your audience.

Rather than constantly pushing products, promotions paid challenges, etc., also focus on building relationships with your audience. Get to know your audience, help your audience get to know you, and also put in posts about your products. Just don’t make selling your main focus!

You aren’t giving specific instructions on what action you want your audience to take from this post.

Simply saying “go to the link in our bio” is too vague. Why do you want them to go to the link in your bio? What will your audience gain by going to the link in your bio? If you want them to message you how will you know they are messaging in relation to this post vs. just starting a conversation. Give clear, specific action items that they can do right now, and then tell them what will happen when they do that.

Rather, try this: “Click the link in our bio to sign up for our free program!” It gives the reader an incentive on why they should click the link in your bio AND it tells the reader what to expect when doing so.
